💼 CCS President and Vice-President Applications
The Cambridge Climate Society is recruiting its next President, Vice-President or co-Presidents for the 2025-2026 academic year, and we think it could be you! This is an incredible opportunity to lead one of Cambridge’s largest and fastest growing societies and have a tangible impact across the university!
The application form is HERE. We’d like to stress that applications from anyone and everyone are welcome for this role! Being on committee for the previous year is not a prerequisite. Applications are welcome from any degree course (undergrad & postgrad) with an interest in climate. The only requirements are a deep commitment to the climate crisis, great organisational skills, and willingness to own the full responsibility of the role.
The deadline is Monday March 24th 11:59pm.
Please note: only applications for President / VP are currently open - this is so that the successful applicant(s) can participate in the recruitment process for next year’s committee. We will open applications for the rest of committee later next term. The role officially starts towards the end of Easter but applications are open now to gradually ease you in!
🤝 CCS Mentorship Programme
The program gives students a chance to learn from and network with climate experts and practitioners from diverse sectors and backgrounds, by setting up a one-on-one pairing between each student and mentor. Your mentor will be able to give you climate career guidance via calls throughout the academic year.
A selection of our current mentors is shown on our website here. We will continue to add new mentors and accept new mentees on a rolling basis throughout the year!
Due to the high interest of students interested in receiving mentorship, we are asking that students submit a short statement of interest and biography. Please note that mentors will be deciding who they want to mentor directly from the answers given to this form - so please include sufficient detail and enthusiasm to ensure you can get a match!
As as a mentee, it will you be your responsibility to reach out to your paired mentor upon introduction to sustain discussion. It will then be up to you and your mentor to establish an agreement on the frequency of your mentorship and relationship. This is an opportunity for you to ask more about what they do, advice on post-university plans, how to get engaged in the climate sector, etc.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with Jake Thakur, CCS Careers Officer, at cambridge.climate.society@gmail.com or jnt28@cantab.ac.uk.
