March 10th, 5.30pm: Cambridge Zero Postgraduate Academy Sustainable Labs Showcase and Awards Ceremony Sign-up through this link!
Would you like to learn more about how to improve the sustainability of research labs at the University of Cambridge and beyond? The event will feature: a screening of the shortlisted pitches for sustainable laboratory solutions, an awards ceremony to celebrate the winners of the Cambridge Zero Postgraduate Academy Sustainable Labs Competition, talks from university academics and experts leading sustainability initiatives across the university, and celebratory networking event (with drinks and snacks provided)!
March 11th, 6pm – 7.30pm: Focus group on University engagement with Cambridge communities @ Exam Hall, Student Services Centre Sign-up here!
This focus group is part of a wider listening exercise which will include consultation with local community stakeholders, and with our student, alumni and staff communities. Join the conversation and help us to shape the University’s engagement with the City.

We’re excited to be hosting Elizabeth Mungai from C40 Cities, Dr. Carolina Vasilikou from the Architecture Department, Thomas Noble and Eleanor Broad from Create Streets, Yair Perry from Water Sensitive Cambridge, and Tyler Goodwin from Space House for a panel on the race for cities to adapt to climate change!
March 15th, 10am-4pm: Cambridge Climate Ideathon @ Student Services Centre (New Museums Site). Sign-up through this form!
Join 30 students across all academic disciplines and backgrounds (undergraduates and postgraduates) for a one day challenge to ideate and tackle pressing climate issues in Cambridge, such as increasing tree canopy cover or implementing plant-based catering across the SU.
Alongside expert mentors and judges, teams will develop implementable solutions in just one day, with the chance to win a prize of £30 each!
Free pizza lunch and snacks will be provided.
March 20th, 3-8pm: The Future of Food @ Old Dvinity School, John’s. Sign-up to the event here!
Join us for an afternoon exploring how cutting-edge science is reshaping what’s on our plates. From lab-grown meat to plant-based innovation, we’ll dive into the breakthroughs redefining food production, sustainability, and nutrition.
Expect thought-provoking talks, interactive Q&As, and even a chance to sample the future of food!Stick around for networking from 7pm at a local pub. Attendees are welcome to drop in and out through the event.
Refreshments will be available, as well as some food samples from our speakers!

💼 CCS Mentorship Programme: Looking for New Mentees!
The CCS Climate Mentorship Programme has just reopened for mentee applications!
The Cambridge Climate Society is excited to announce the reopening of this year’s CCS Mentorship Program. The program gives Cambridge students a chance to learn from and network with climate experts and practitioners from diverse sectors and backgrounds, by setting up a one-on-one pairing between each student and mentor. Your mentor will be able to give you climate career guidance via calls throughout the academic year.

🔎 Cambridge Journal of Climate Research: Now Accepting Submissions
The Editorial Board of the Cambridge Journal of Climate Research (ISSN 3050-2020 / 3050-2012) is now accepting submissions for the first issue of its second volume, likely to be published in May 2025.
The CJCR is an interdisciplinary journal encompassing all climate-related areas of research: from engineering and atmospheric science to law, demographics, politics, and art. We accept full-length academic articles, as well as shorter, summative pieces. Examples of previously published works include:
- “The Political Economy of Climate Finance: Stakeholder Relationship Dynamics in the Indonesian Just Energy Transition Partnership.” https://doi.org/10.60866/CAM.123
- “Investigating the Importance of UK Government Support for Offshore Wind: The Impact of Higher CfD Strike Prices on Developers’ Share Returns.” https://doi.org/10.60866/CAM.125
- “Space Technology and Climate Security: Bridging Justice, Adaptation, and Global Policy.” https://doi.org/10.60866/CAM.135
We will consider submissions from any career stage, including from undergraduate and postgraduate students, although we are particularly interested in research from practising academics, including College Fellows, Research Associates, and Asst. / Assoc. / Full Professors, as well as works from professionals in industry.
All submissions will be subject to a double peer-review process. Writers are expected to be readily available to make any substantive changes that are suggested during the review. Finalised works will be published online on the Diamond Open Access Journals Platform and also in print. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to reach out to kp613@cam.ac.uk.
