November 26th, 6pm: "Challenges and Opportunities Facing the Future of the Grid" @ Old Divinity School, Johnâs
CUETS is hosting Carl Trowell from the National Grid in the Lightfoot Room, Old Divinity School. Carl is President of UK Strategic Infrastructure at National Grid and has led countless major projects in the energy industry. Previously, he worked as CEO of Acteon Group Ltd and Valaris (then Ensco Ltd) and spent most of his career at Schlumberger Ltd.

DAAD is hosting an event focused on a discussion on Universities and the Future followed up by a dance theatre performance on how landscapes are being changed by the changing climate.

Interested in interdisciplinary research into how the concept of Rights of Nature impacts economics, politics, and environmental law? Following last yearâs workshop with CCS, YERA Hub is excited to announce their Rights of Nature workshop hosted on Zoom from 18:00 - 20:00, 28th November!
This is an exciting way to challenge your own understanding of how a new paradigm of environmental law can reshape the world around you.

In this relaxed, connective event, Cambridge climate researchers are challenged to present their ongoing work in no more than five minutes. The presentations will cover: carbon removal with kelp, sustainable aviation, earth jurisprudence, water resources, air pollution, and animal behaviour!
Following the presentations, there will be a brief panel discussion before a chance to network with others in the space.

December 1st, 10am - 12pm: Volunteering Opportunity: Tree Guard Removal with On the Verge Cambridge
Come and help take off the tree guards with On the Verge Cambridge! Many are now strangling the trees. Countryside has agreed to recycle them. Equipment will be provided but please bring good gardening gloves, decent footwear and dress for the weather.

December 3rd, 6pm: COP29 Debrief
Please join us on Tuesday 3rd December at 18:00 to break down the processes and outcomes of COP29. There will be a summarising presentation by members of the CCS committee followed by a panel of individuals who have attended the conference to hear about their experience, views and hopes for the future.
