A Polarised Debate: Is There a Middle Ground on Geoengineering? — Wed 6th May
Join us for a lunchtime event hosted by the Centre for Climate Repair and the Scott Polar Research Institute. Professor Marc Macias Fauria (Physical Geography) and Albert Van Wijngaarden (PhD candidate and researcher in polar geoengineering governance) will explore whether a constructive middle ground can be found within the often divisive debate around climate interventions. The discussion will bring together perspectives on polarisation, the case for advancing research, and how inclusive dialogue might be fostered. Is polarisation on geoengineering inevitable? Or can a middle ground be found, and what might it look like? Join us on 6th May to explore these questions. Open to all!

Ten years of the Paris Climate Agreement — Wed 6th May
Join Professor Rachel Kyte, UK Special Representative for Climate, and scholars from Cambridge, Manchester, and UCL for a candid look at a decade of climate governance under the Paris Agreement — the wins, failures, and urgent path forward — followed by a networking drinks reception.
A decade after it was adopted, the Paris Agreement stands as both a landmark of global climate cooperation and a reminder of the profound gap between collective ambition and planetary reality.

Scenes from the Climate Era, from playwright David Finnigan — 12-16 May
Welcome to the climate crisis.
Fast paced and funny, unsettling and challenging, Scenes from the Climate Era is a darkly human response to the climate crisis told through a kaleidoscope of short scenes and contrasting characters. By weaving together moments of hope and humour, uncertainty and grief, the play resists simple narratives or solutions. Instead, it asks how to live with a crisis that is simultaneously omnipresent and somehow so easy to ignore.
Join us for a journey around the world and back again through the past, present, and future of the climate crisis: both as we know it and as we will.
Scenes from the Climate Era, from playwright David Finnigan, is at the ADC Theatre 12-16 May for its sixth international run.
