The Cambridge Journal of Climate Research, Volume 3, Issue 1, has now been published online, and is available to view here.
From climate justice and sustainable finance to urban governance, Indigenous adaptation, and Global South perspectives, this issue’s sixteen articles examine the politics of climate action in an era of polycrisis.
As ever, the issue showcases the Journal’s commitment to interdisciplinary, critical, and globally engaged scholarship. Featuring contributions from researchers across continents and disciplines, the collection explores climate governance, justice, finance, adaptation, rights, and resilience—from Arctic blue carbon and urban climate action to feminist climate politics, Indigenous adaptation, and the future of climate accountability.
CJCR 3(1) is essential reading for anyone seeking to understand the complexities of climate action in a rapidly changing world. We invite readers to explore this timely collection.

This is a very topical short film aimed towards the General UK population. It’s not accessible online, you can only view it via a formal screening, like this one.
45 minute screening of the PEB documentary, followed by a group discussion:

Cambridge Nature Festival — Now started!!
The Cambridge Nature Festival 2026 runs from Saturday, 23rd May to Tuesday, 30th June, marking its fifth year as a cornerstone of the city’s environmental calendar.
With over 180 events – building on the record-breaking success of last year – the 2026 line-up offers a mix of scientific discovery, creative expression, and pure outdoor fun.
Whether you are a budding biologist or just someone who enjoys a quiet stroll, there is something to capture your imagination and curiosity.
Cambridge Climate Therapists — Saturday 13th June
Climate Cafes offer a supportive space for people to express what they feel and think about climate issues, reflect together and listen to one another. The cafes are led by facilitators, so you can be sure there will be space for you to speak if you wish to. All welcome.

Vice-President of Changemaking
In this role, you will oversee the Policy, Action and Partnerships Teams! Together, they work to produce climate-positive policy changes at the College, Departmental and University level. At the same time, you’ll also work with green societies and officers across Cambridge.
Vice-President of Community
In this role, you’ll oversee the Education, Research and Careers Teams. The main goal of all three teams is to help foster a wider climate community in Cambridge. The role involves engaging students, connecting climate researchers, and improving green career prospects!
Vice-President of Operations
Your main responsibility in this role will be to ensure that the society runs smoothly from the inside! You will organise committee events and socials and overlook society logistics, including bookings and minutes. Simultaneously, you will oversee the Operations Team, which handles events and society communications.
Treasurer
As treasurer, you will get to manage the society’s finances, including accounts, grant proposals, and budgeting. Please note this role is open to British nationals only.

This is an open ended call for anyone with an interest in learning more about how to get involved, or where to look for community. You might be searching for a way to make more friends with a similar outlook on sustainability / the climate crisis, OR be heavily involved already in campaigning work and looking for a listening ear to bounce ideas off.
Shreya’s background within the Cambridge climate scene is fairly wide-ranging so she may be able to help! No question is silly, so definitely get in touch if this could be of use (Shreya Patel, sp2068).
📞 Calls or in person drop ins will be arranged by request on an ad hoc basis this week.
NB. Shreya is a 5th year Vet Student. She was previously CCS President (2024-2025) and is currently the student liaison for Cambridge Zero.

❓ UK University Students' Insecurity, Housing & Diet Survey
My name is Rena Jackson-Belete and I am an MSc Public Health student at King’s College London. I am currently conducting dissertation research exploring how food insecurity, housing insecurity, and living conditions affect UK university students’ ability to eat well and sustainably.
The study is open to students aged 18+ currently enrolled in a UK higher education course, including undergraduate, postgraduate, international, part-time, and disabled students.
The anonymous survey includes:
Brief measures on food insecurity, housing insecurity, and living conditions
Open-ended questions on your student experiences
A validated 24-hour dietary recall via Intake24
Estimated completion time: 45 minutes to 1 Hour.
Participants may also optionally enter a separate prize draw to win 1 of 8 £20 vouchers.
This study has received ethical approval from King’s College London, and all data will be securely stored and analysed anonymously for academic research purposes.
